Our Glory as Kings

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

We get so weary of searching. Especially of waiting on God to show us things. But, if we’re followers of him, then we are kings (Rev 1:6), and it’s our glory to search him, to wait on him for answers, to pursue his wisdom (James 1:5) and his grace. Hebrews 4:16. It’s GLORY TO US.

We usually only think of glory in the context of God or Jesus. But we have that same glory on us as we search, ask, wait, listen and seek more and more. I come into that glory. I abide there.

Pretty awesome to think on.

It’s like going into the secret place of the most high in the temple where his glory rested on the mercy seat. So to seek him, ask him, wait on him, listen for him, pursue his thought and voice… puts me right inside that inner chamber where he dwells and his glory rests on me.

Kind of like the child, Samuel, who was innocent and didn’t realize he shouldn’t, but went in to sleep right beside the ark. 1 Sam 3:3. Back then, anyone entering the inner chamber into the presence of God would’ve been killed immediately. But Samuel apparently did it. And Jesus encourages us to be like a little child. Mk 10:15. To rest in God, in himself. Mt. 11:28

To pursue him is to partake of his glory. Ask, seek, knock. God desires this. He desires our glory. He desires our fellowshipping with him in it.
